Not only is Swisher hitting .400 for the Yankees so far, he's also...pitching? I'm missing Dirty 30 already. Swish threw a scoreless inning last night in the Rays' 15-5 pwning of the Yankees. In his one inning of work, Swisher gave up up a hit, a walk, and struck out a batter. You have to feel bad for Gabe Kapler, who was Swisher's lone strikeout victim. He swung at a 2-2 pitch well outside of the zone that was probably around 75-80 MPH. Wilson Betemit had a good game in his lone start last Saturday, but I think Cashman might have gotten the best of KW already on that deal. I don't even care how Jeff Marquez turns out. All I know is that Nick Swisher can pitch for me in a 10-run blowout any day.
*Note: Swisher actually had the best line of the night among all Yankees pitchers, even Chen Mien Wang.
YouTube video of Swisher's awesome relief outing can be found here.
