Wise Lands on DL; Owens Called Up.

This is some serious face palm material. Dewayne Wise (also known as D-Weezy) will most likely be placed on the 15 day DL with a separated shoulder. He injured himself in today's game while attempting to make a diving catch.

His replacement? Jerry Owens, as reported by Chicago Sun Times White Sox reporter Joe Cowley. Yes, Mr. Owens, the one that failed to make the club in spring with the torrid competition of Mr. Wise himself and Brian Anderson. He was then placed on waivers at the end of spring training, where he cleared, meaning nobody else wanted him. He's fast, he stole 30 bases in 2007 in only half a season and hit .267. But anybody with eyes can tell he is not Major League material, let alone lead-off material. This center field problem is going to get a bit interesting this year. Hey, at least Ozzie gets more speed, right?

UPDATE: Wise is out for two months. He will land on the 60 Day DL, not the 15 day DL.
