The Boston Red Sox picked up their fourth win of the season with a 10-8 victory over Baltimore. The Red Sox were down as much as seven runs after the top of the 2nd inning. They battled hard and eventually cut the lead down to three. During the second inning, the Orioles got their runs from a bases loaded walk, a Brian Roberts single, a Adam Jones walk, and eventually a Nick Markakis grand slam. The Red Sox scored by a Jason Bay two run shot, an Ellsbury single, and a Ortiz sacrifice fly. Boston cut the lead to 7-5 in the 3rd when J.D. Drew hit a solo home run. After Manny Delcarmen replaced Brad Penny in the 4th, Nick Markakis hit a double to drive in a run to extend the lead to 8-5. The Red Sox wouldn't give up by tying up the game in the 5th with a Aubrey Huff error, and a bases loaded double by Nick Green. Boston took the lead in the 6th with a Bay sacrifice fly, and a Mike Lowell single to go ahead 10-8. After that the bullpen consisting of Ramon Ramirez, Hideki Okajima, and Jonathan Papelbon pitched scoreless innings to give the Red Sox the win.
Red Sox Comeback Against O's
What's next for the Red Sox?
The Red Sox should keep hitting the ball, just the way they showed last game. The Red Sox bullpen was almost perfect last night, which is another thing they should keep up. Let's hope that the Josh Beckett replacement can pitch more than a couple of innings, to give the bullpen some sort of rest.
